Family law cases are often implicating multiple areas of law, like when parents from different countries are divorcing and there are disputes about which country the child should reside in. This could involve:

Family Law: For the custody arrangement.

International Law: For determining jurisdiction and applicable law.

Immigration Law: If one of the parents or the child is not a citizen of the country where the case is being heard,

Criminal Law: If there are allegations of abuse or other criminal conduct by one of the parents,

Family court cases are often perceived by the global community as intricate legal matters, spanning multiple areas of law.

For instance, Australia’s Family Law Act of 1975 encompasses sections that address criminal behaviors within the purview of family court proceedings. However, there are also legislations that do not specifically link criminal acts directly to family law. Instead, they either remain open-ended or have distinct rules that associate criminal allegations or elements from other legal areas with family law.

Germany, on the other hand, has confined family cases within a very restrictive legal framework, opting to disregard any subsequent legal issues that may arise during proceedings.
